One of the links made this statement:

"Shingle staining and streaking (algae growth): Heavy shingle staining is caused by manufacturers’ overuse of inexpensive crushed limestone fillers. Algae, common on northern facing roof slopes, retains moisture for long periods of time. During winter months this moisture expands, breaking granules loose. Roof Maxx has natural fungicides that resist algae growth."

Some research to see if this is part of the five year warranty includes algae growth.

I watched the videos on you tube. Roof shampoo is cleaning the roof I assume first. They are using a fatboy with what looks like Bob from pressure tek skid. They want twenty grand to buy an area. They want ten grand for a what appears to be a 250 gallon tote ( skid and tote part of 20 grand ) Looks like an easy add on but i dont think folks are going to pay that money, they barley go for a roof cleaning

I have been a dealer since late 2017. I recently dissolved my contract with them. I really didn't work out like I hoped. By the time you clean the roof, some back another day to do repairs (this includes replacing all the pipe stacks and re-flashing penetrations and reglets) and then coming back another day to spray the roof with the soy stuff......it really didn't make sense for just a 5 year warranty. it was about half the cost of a brand new roof, if done properly. I did it because of my roofing background and I actually know the owners of RoofMaxx. I used to work with them, when I worked for GAF. It is a great concept but the price point was just too large for 98% of the people I spoke too. Another issue, was that you as the contractor are on the hook for the 5 year warranty, NOT them. SO you need to make sure the repairs will hold up for 5 years. The actual coating has been around for over 20 years. The patent was an old patent that GAF scientist had originally developed in the 90's. It was abandoned as it was considered to be non-valid and could take away from new shingle sales. Another big factor, at least in NJ, is that you no longer need a permit to put a roof on. This opened up our roofing market to a bunch of low balling scumbags that have dropped the market price point of a new roof.

lol Brett just another exciting Friday night here watching videos. I was just talking about it again this morning the cost of the product seems to high and small repairs are time consuming yada yada yada. John, the owner of Roofmaxx states he can only make money if we are making money so here is what I am thinking. This is an easy add on to any roof cleaning if the cost was on par with a roof cleaning, I mean no shingle repair...no flashing repair etc. ( unless you want to ) and no guarantee .... I mean you could give a two year guarantee no one is going up there to see if it drys out and they say it last 5 years. If i am cleaning a roof for say $500.00 I would come back to that house what two months later for treatment with this product but the profit has to be there. If you ever speak to them perhaps have a territory for incoming calls.....but let those who also have roof cleaning company's go where they want on their own leads. Any of us could sell that product on every roof cleaning at the right price, your friends profit is in the product, push more product at a cheaper rate.....Thoughts?
