Arts Pinalen Max Lavender

I started out the season last year using Pinalen on Arts recommendation and a few others who aid they liked it.  I used the Lavender,..I was buying the 172 oz. bottles from Home Depot  and having them shipped free. I originally bought 10 bottles to get past the $45.00 free shipping minimum,...I wanted to try it before I bought too much,...turned out I liked it,..so my next or was 20 bottles,..and then another 20,....then Home Depot decided to stop shipping anything past the $45.00,...So,..I went away from using it and went to something else I used before.

I was on the Home Depot site recently and put in an order for 30 bottles,..and it didn't give notification that it couldn't ship?

Art was right though,..it works well and also makes a decent smell even when the SH and bleach are combined.  I'm still using the mini-prop for DS'ing I made a couple years ago so the Pinalen is only in contact with 12.5% for a couple seconds at most,..and then it hits the water stream and is cut back to around 1.5%-2%,....

If Home Depot shuts me don again,..I am going to Family Dollar and see if they can order cases for me.

But thanks Art,..nice find I should have used when you first mentioned it.

It also pours into my soap reservoir with creating wild bubbles just from pouring,..nut soaps up nice through the DS injector.

I cannot remember how long I have been using Pinalen. My local Home Depot on carries Lavender. I use Floral so I keep the shelves empty at Family Dollar. The manager has even saved cases for me, three bottles to a case. My guy at HD did everything he could to get them to stock the 304 oz. bottles but the powers to be wont bring it in, even after he told them all they would have to do is hand me the cases and not even stock the shelves. Family Dollar likes me since I have added to their bottom line. I have no clue how much I bought, but a good guess is around 65 bottles for the year.

Bottom line... it's local, no shipping and works well.

Jeff they can't sell the Max because a chemical in it is outlawed in PA. Something to do with the water system. Try Fabuloso at HD or order it in Jersey

Hey Art,...I can go buy it at Home Depot or Family Dollar off the shelf,..I know,..I've done it,....they just never have enough it seems. It wasn't that Home Depot wouldn't ship it,...they just wouldn't ship it in large quantities,..when I first ordered it they shipped it in large quantities,..then they shut me down,...and any time I would get past the free shipping amount,..a message would pop up saying couldn't be shipped in that quantity.

I just don't think they expect people to be ordering that much weight and then they be expected to ship for free,..because it met the $45.00 minimum order.

They must have a shipping limit on the weight.  Find a sweet spot and go from there. Try different Emails also.

Yea Art,..that's what I concluded, Advance Auto also shut down the free shipping on the Purple Power. I don't really blame them,.that's alot of weight,..especially considering I know what I get charged for other 5 gallon buckets of "stuff" ,..usually around $30.00 or more. And plus,..the UPS man once told me they also get charged $5.00 per bucket for not shipping them in a box. So,..yea,..Advance allowed that for a long time.

*Worked out for the best though.

Ok,..sorry Brett,..I did not know that. I do know though that Bruce hit on something I've seen numerous times over the years,,, where the origin of product finds and ideas get cloudy over the years as to where it started.

We found the Green Pinalen back at the old RCIA. Nobody liked it because of the smell and we didn't know how to use it. It was leaving a thick residue in our tanks. Then I found the small flavored 16 oz bottles "it wasn't called Max yet"at Walmart and started using that with good results. It is the best stuff around these days and it puts a nice shine on the windows

Only thread I can find with the mention of Pinalen at the RCIA, Probably more threads there.

Hey Art,..yea the green is more like a pine oil cleaner,..like Pine-Sol,...it does not mix well with SH. I tried it once because they were out of the Floral and Lavender,..thinking they were all the same,..they are not,....

Thanks Bruce but I cannot take credit. Art was the one who introduced it to me. Once I found that it is local, inexpensive and works very well, I have never used anything else. When something works I have no problem letting others know, who are willing to understand that soap is soap and finding just the right one doesn't mean soaps have to cost $30+ to get them to the door.

Brett. Didn't know that. Way to go Art. I got it from Brett and that is why I thought he found it. That was many years back. :)

Use Pinalen 95% of time. Zero issues. Wish it was a little thicker for the proportioner but still works.

Sounds like Pinalen is a winner across the board. Art mentioned Fabuloso in an earlier post in this thread. I tried it once,.the Lavender,...it made a very irritating,..bordering on atrocious smell when combined with SH,...even though it wasn't touching the bleach until it's mixed inline.

The Pinalen smells sweet/clean when mixed with SH.

I agree, fabuloso would work in a pinch but would be my last resort. Whether using a mixing valve or batch mixing There would be other options available will going that I would choose 1st
