Those are certainly much better than what Warner has.

We have used the Original Ladder Max for about eight years now. I like these for a number of reasons. They don't have to be mounted on the ladder. They will go anywhere on the fly except where the pulley is mounted and the wide angle makes them more stable. The also have the best levelers. I only buy two levelers per truck and enough base units for each ladder.

I agree with Brett, the "clip ons" are much easier to use but the u-bars esp. the adjustable and standoff ones have their purpose.

Brett that ladder max looks well built and just as sturdy. I would agree there are some very rare situations for me where clipping it on lower down would have helped.

Maybe I'm just used to mine being on full time but the only annoyance is when I walk into them on the back of the truck.

Walking into them is the main reason I never went that route! I learned years ago when I did remodeling and would have lumber on the tailgate. If I was wearing a hat, I was going to hit it hard but not as bad as a trailer hitch!
