Roof Gitter

I've been doing alot of reading and research on getting my softwash roof cleaning business off the ground. I bought a ebook from John White in Virginia, and he explains how to do it and what tools I will need.

One tool is a roof gitter, but I don't see anyone on here using one. Has anyone seen this equipment?

I have bought 80% of the material to build it. Hope I haven't wasted that money. Any thoughts?  Here's a picture

Water jets 4" from the roof surface is a bad idea. I bought that ebook too when I first started, but kept reading. I think there's better advice here, on the RCIA forum, and at Softwashsystems.com. Also Doug Rucker would be helpful to you since he uses a mix of downstreaming and roof cleaning. If I were you, I'd spend my first money with Doug and save yourself a learning curve. His online school really helped me with understanding terminology.

No pressure on roofs just spray your mix let it do its work and rinse with a garden hose or booster pump.

Roof snot works well... I guess.  It's all I've ever used.  I would love to have something that helps break up red clay for house washing though.  Roof snot does nothing.

Way thicker than snot. I have a Sodium Laurel Sulfate on the way, nothing will be coming off the roof!

Stay away from all those "green" products and "special" tools with crazy names. Build or buy a quality system and you'll be just fine.

Brett, the SLS your getting is it the high % powdered form were discussing? I'm still wanting to experiment with it but I'm way backed up with other work who knows when I'll do another roof.

I have tried just about everything from Gain to Dragon Grip. After talking to Art about the Laurel Sulfate, I am going to see what happens since he has had great success with it. I still have 1-1/2 5's of Stick Up (I was really disappointed with Stick Up) and about 2 1/2 gals of Dragon Grip left. I am getting 5 gals (way more than I need) of Laurel Sulfate from my local supplier since there is no shipping it ends up much cheaper. I am unsure of the percentage. He doesn't carry it in stock put is getting it with an order from his supplier. Once I have it I will be able to answer all of the questions if Art hasn't already done so in his previous Laurel Sulfate posts.

As far as thicker. Drago Grip is thicker than Roof Snot. From what Art tells me, adding just a little Laurel Sulfate makes the roof look like it's covered with snow, no run off and the mix stays longer.
