Soft washing is a cleaning method that involves using a low-pressure water spray and a specialized cleaning solution to safely and effectively clean surfaces such as roofs, without causing any damage. Here are the steps to soft wash a roof:Prepare the area: Before starting the cleaning process, e...
I am curious to hear how everyone quotes extremely dirty roofs. I cleaned a roof the other day and multiple sections were north facing and had never been cleaned in 20 years. Those sections before treating were solidly black. After the first treatment the shingles cleaned up in some parts but there wa...
Hello guys im new to this website as I just got approved. I've been looking everywhere on the process of cleaning roofs out here in California. I learned the Softwash methods but that doesn't seem to cut it since the yellow lichen is dry. Do I apply solution wait 6-8 weeks then come back and hose it down? T...
I have a customer that used Raid to spray some hornet nests and it has stained the shingles dark, and he says its very sticky (could be the honey from the comb) Anyone run into this, and what did you use to get it off. Being sticky, I don't think a regular roof mix is going to touch it.
Wondering if anybody has any feedback on the low pressure high volume Udor System from PWS. Looking to build out a new truck. Currently running 12v systems on our rigs.
Paradise Pressure Washing LLC was called out to clean this nice little roof yesterday. The owner thought she had to replace the shingles until we performed a little demo and she was sold.
I accidentally let my website expire through GoDaddy. I had a girl build another one, but it doesn't seem as good as my old one. I had about 15 years on the old 1 and it ranked 1st page Google. Let me know what you think in posts here. Thanks!!This is the new site: http;//www.bergmanpressurewashing.com...
Hello all, My new business is picking up and I am trying to figure out what equipment I should be looking to purchase. Currently I am renting industrial pressure washer and surface cleaner for cleaning drives and walk ways. For the roof cleaning I am using a backpack pump sprayer with 2 gallons of 12....
Hello everyone, I am new to this business and wanted to get some input from some Pros. As part of my roof treatment training, I am going to be treating my grandparents roof so I can see how long it takes for the roof to be moss free. I will be using 12.5% SH to make the following recommended mix, thank you H...
Aloha everyone, this is for a lot of new guys here. Please always inspect and take lots of pics prior to any cleaning to cover yourself. Here is a pine example of an elastomeric roof we did yesterday with multiple bubbling. Always Softwash roofs as well! This can be a great upgrade if you know how to repai...
Aloha everyone, just did another cedar shake cleaning yesterday and house wash. Hope you like it! The roof was still drying but just wanted to show how it’s starting to pop.
I got a call this summer from a guy who was buying a foreclosed home and the roof was in rough shape. Normally when I have mossy roof, I spend the time to do a rinse for more of an instant result. I have tried in the past to spray and wait, but I got impatient and I believe the customers did as well. I decided...
Aloha guys, here is a few pics of a roof we cleaned yesterday. Customer also wanted to add a fresh coat on top which we were able to do as well for them.
We cleaned a roof system on a house yesterday with a little goldfish pond right under a corner of the gutter that runoff overshoots. I tarped and protected the fish while we were onsite, and i left the tarp system in place in case it rained last night. The homeowner wants to know if they need to worry about...
Anyone using "Slo-Mo" from Lori @ PWP? I recently received a 5 but the darn weather isn't letting up enough to get cranking so haven't had the opportunity to get a trial run in. We previously were using "Roof Snot" and liked, also have used Gain, but just haven't really ran thru the different surfactant...
Would anyone care to show their soft wash/roof washing wand? I have been looking for something that will be easy to use, easy to build, and effective for possibly adding a little more range/flow. I have seen a few self built ones that look creative and effective. We currently have 2 set-up, one the is a r...
I know there is a lot of people that search these forums for knowledge and advice. There is a lot of you that probably already know all this but some of you might not. For those that dont this information is a must if you are working on roofs. There is nothing worse than standing there with a customer pointi...

PrepIng to add roof cleaning equipment to my rig. If yall had to start over on building your roof cleaning equipment, what would you buy ? I read and heard that the fat boy is a great pump. Any advice would be appreciated ty.
We showed up to a roof cleaning today in Ocean Pines, and this was the reason the lady called. They had a guest bedroom window that overlooked this attempt at a roof cleaning! The damage had been done, but we were able to remove all of the swoosh marks so that you couldn't tell it had been pressurewashed.....
I cleaned this roof today with a 3% mix. This tile was covered in mold and had moss as well. Kinda upset about this because I think the paint should hold longer than 15 years. Doese anyone know how long the coating on a concrete tile last?
I have a good friend who has a family house on the lake and needs the roof cleaned. Only seasoned veterans. I know how particular he is. I've been there once, a nice single story home well maintained.
