I always give credit where credit is due and Joe Walters Agency came through like a shining star for me. I talked with Darla and she is fantastic. It took all of about 20 minutes over the phone for her to gather some information and within 2 hours, my policy was sitting in my email in-box. I paid in full with my credit card and received a discount also! Thanks to Ron over at PWI and a few others here that have recommended them! Saved me a few hundred bucks.

One of the perks is that in the policy, it has "Care, Custody and Control" included with no additional cost. I didn't even know this. My old policy and most General Liability policies do not include this. When your policy comes up for renewal, at the very least, give them a call and get a quote.

Darla and Patti are great to work with. I can not tell you how many jobs I have been able to get because of how fast they are at getting COI's out to my clients. I mean it's like within minutes of my asking which is within minutes of my client asking me.

I have a hotel we will be starting on Monday that we have been working on since July, they have asked for several changes, or verbal wording be changed on the COI's and each and every time Patti or Darla would take care of it for me. In fact there was one time I told the hotel that they should find someone else that had all the requirements in place. But Darla and Patti kept working with me with such patience and in doing so actually helped me to secure the job. I like things to be easy, and Darla and Patti make it easy.

I'm going to call Joe Walter and get a price. I have been with my guy about 15 years and nobody has ever beat his price, but lets see.

I can't remember exactly , been about 3 years since I shopped for insurance...but the policy they have everyone under is for "carpet cleaning services".. if you actually call the insurance company they set you up with they dont even know what roof cleaning is let alone insure for it..

My insurance has a online portal where I can get a COI in about 2 min instanlty...just fill in the blanks and add whoever you want and download in pdf or email directly

Same here Lee. I priced them out but found out about the carpet cleaning thing early on. I use a local guy and he found GL and comp policies under exterior cleaning and maintenance that include roof cleanng .

Although the carpet cleaning classification makes you wonder,..there must be more to this classification thing than meets the eye. Wouldn't the Joe Walters agency be risking fraud charges if they were deceiving their clients? Like, what happens when someone turns in a claim for a pressure washing related damage only to find they weren't covered after paying premiums under the assumption they were sold the proper coverage. Wouldn't it also be putting customers' properties at risk which I'm sure would be frowned upon by someone other than even the customer.

Joe Walters has been talked about numerous times over the years on various boards as one of the best agencies for the PW business and even roof cleaning in recent years.

I do have Joe Walters insurance, and I was told I was good for buildings and even roof cleaning up to three stories??

Would be nice for some clarification.

Jeff

From what I've seen the code is just a reference to the liability risks,..I mean lets face it,..every service that's provided by imaginative people doesn't have it's own category,...so they use something that is close to the risk.

Now, there has to be something closer to what we do than: 91405 carpet cleaning,Ha,Ha,..what about a painting code.

But maybe the risk value is about the same, I mean I've never had a claim,..maybe carpet cleaners moving a Ming Vase or something is more risky.

I do have an additional code: 91585 that covers contractors in construction or repair.

Either way,..I haven't gone through my entire policy,..but I don't see any reference to PW in there?

Wonder how this would hold up in court?

As stated earlier though,..I think Joe Walters' coverage is legit,..and some of us just don't understand it. Which makes you wonder,...What happens when a thorough customer looks through your policy and sees carpet cleaning is what you're insured for,Ha,Ha,..

Jeff

JW covers roof cleaning for no more than 2 stories. I've filed a claim through JW but they have nothing to do with the claim except give you a claim # to be used at for the underwriter. Ive had JW for roughly 5 years. Ive unfortunately made 3 claims since. Rates havent gone up.

Ok Ed,..I thought they said three stories,..maybe that's for building washing,..Doesn't matter,.. I have never done a three story roof.

Too bad I can't look at my policy and see what's actually covered,Ha,Ha...

*Actually just did a quick Google search,..there are a number of older references to coverage up to three stories. Maybe it's been changed in the last few years?? Still irrelevant though.

JW has a booth at most (if not all) of the UAMCC events and heavily is involved from what I see. There is just no way they are not legit in coverage.

Pat would it be cheaper if you just went under "house washing or powerwashing"? We are under wallpapering which is cheaper than painting which isn't a lie but I know a few years back they wanted for us to break out what percentage was wp and what was int. painting and what was ext. painting, pw washing etc. etc.

Really sux.

Anytime "roof" is mentioned prices skyrocket.

From two different agents at two different agencies... be careful with your classification. As we all know, insurance companies don't like to write checks. A carpet cleaning classification might leave you basically uninsured.

I've had JW since I started, fortunately I haven't filed any claims so I can't comment on what the service on a claim is like. But I was kind of disappointed when I moved from Michigan to Florida. They were able to give me GL but only $2000.00 towards equipment. Makes no sense to me and their only explanation is the underwriter doesn't cover equipment in the state of Florida. Anyone have an idea as to why that may be? My coverage for equipment with them cost around $100.00. Down here so far the cheapest was $795 for $10,000 of equipment. Seems high to me. Currently crossing my fingers no one decides to steal my machine until I figure it out.
