Dryer Vent Cleaning Quick Easy Trick

We clean dryer vents a lil different, But I may try a leaf blower next time!!!

Been doing that way for years....very easy. Sometimes on ones that were really heavy, we would reverse and put the blower outside, using a back pack or heavier duty one than an electric, and blow back in. We hooked up a shop vac on the inside to catch the lint so it doesn't blow in the house.

We charge a minimum of $75.00 if we are already there, if it's just to come out and do that it starts at our minimum of $175.00, and then depends on travel.

Thanks for the tip on how to use a leaf blower. I've paid someone to clean out my dyer duct when he was cleaning my HVAC ducts. I didn't watch him but I believe he told me he used a brush. I want to say I paid him $75.

I have seen these before. They hook up to your air compressor hose and directs the air flow back towards you. A bit messy but could be worth an add on service during the slow months!

we too use a leaf blower, only takes 10 minutes with unhooking ductwork and blowout. only do it when on a regular job so no travel time. you,ll not believe how bad most are. one customer hadint have it done in 20 yrs

Well as some dryer vent cleanings go here in Maryland, I can see where a leaf blower could be used. The really bad ones.
We use a brush, I bet even after the leaf blower we could get more out of the dryer vent cleaning? On the really bad dryer vents we cleaned, one in Calvert county comes to mind. With the brush we use it too, IDK how long? Too long! but there dryer time wend from 3 hours down to 1. Another dryer vent we did in Charles county, we took the dryer tubing apart, it was easily gotten to in the basement. Both of these dryervents we cleaned are the worst ones in a long time.

I worry that we may come across another one, like these 2. The leaf blower on the really bad ones... We always feel the vent first, dryer vents always look like bath vents, Make sure you are at the correct outside vent. Sometimes, like these two in Southern Maryland, We didnt feel anything when the dryer was turned on. It was the right one because of all the lint! I think the leaf blowe to blow out the vent first, then follow with brush to get the rest, charge accordingly.

mike you made a good point, many bathroom vents and even more so the intake get gumped up from steam and humidity but worse is girls spraying hair spray dust just sticks like glue and can make a potential fire hazard.
