How can a company wash a ranch for $139. Gas, pay 2 guys for a hour and a half, Insurance, advertising and over head and more. You end up losing money. Can't figure it out.

Well, they are lacking at least two of those things....Insurance and overhead!

Its the $20 an hour mentality. It might work out good for a few months...but can never be a solid foundation to build a true business on!

It's amazing how these guys just don't get it. I lost a $350.00 house wash yesterday to a guy doing it for $125.00. The home owner was telling me how they are doing the same thing I was, that the company told them the had a state license, lability, workers comp, commercial auto, etc... Basically everything I told them to ask any other person who gave them a bid too. As the extremely ignorant woman was rambling on about how great a deal they were getting....I Just hung up the phone! I should of hung up sooner, because i actually think my IQ went down a little after the conversation. My point is....all these cheap guys will continue to have business if home owners continue to not care who cleans their house.

Art you can talk to a customer until you are blue in the face and in the end if they are only interested in price, just move on. I dont waste my time with selling price, i sell the professional service im providing.

When I get done today I'm going to call around. The Home Owner said he got 2 prices from companys in Port Jef. I think he was calling the same guy.

I had a call tuesday form St. George Island, about 90 miles from us. Was a two story on stilts , lots of decks and rails, and a Realtor referral. He has an open house this weekend, so desperately needs it cleaned. It just so happened I have two guys down on the island for 2 days working on 4 projects today and friday. Offered to clean his house for a special rate of $475, since we were down there.

If I have to drive to St. George, Its a minimum $775 job cost. Have at least three houses/month we do there.

Called me a rip-off artist and said he could get it done for about $100.

PS. House will probably go on the market at $500,000

Many people think the price is 100% profit. They don't realize all the expenses such as WCI, liability ins, labor, materials, equipment, gas, vehicle maintenance, website maintenance, marketing materials, phone bills, income tax ect...

^^^^^ This is 100% true. Some customers have no idea if the costs of running a legit business. They think that money goes straight into the pocket. And most are calculating what you make In there head while you explain there job details.

This is a line we use at PAsoftwash:

By all means feel free to get other prices. It is good to do your due diligence. Keep one thing in mind though, we will be your highest price.

They usually do a double take and then we explain why. IF they are a price shopper, not our choice of customer anyway.

we have had people call us back and say we were the highest but they wanted our service because they could tell we actually care about out customers and we charge enough we can afford to take the time to do it right.

That is my kind of customer!
