I have actually been doing softwash for 3 yrs. but recentlly broke away from the company i was doing this for to start up a business of my own. I am located in south central ky. I will be doing roofs,  gutters  (inside & out) siding, decks,  wood and vinyl fences and power washing sidewalks and driveways.

I have been reading this foruum along with others for  couple of months trying to learn more. (you can never learn enough)

but i have not encountered this question. I bought a fatboy and am running it through 220 feet of 1/2 inch kuritek.  In my testing of equipment the pump rapidlly turned on and off.  I solved this problem by turning the allen screw in a few turns untill the motor ran smooth.  Is this hard on the motor by changing the factory pressure setting?

and finally, in answer to ray sprays question of,   if you dip your finger in sh and pick your nose, what is the outcome?

You will have an algae free nose,   and then you will go to the hospital.

By turning the screw you are increasing the pressure off the switch cut off. The switch will last longer but the pump seals will crap out sooner. The seals in the pump can't handle much more than 50 psi, which is also a good reason not to hook up a garden hose to the pump for rinsing purposes. If a pump becomes pressurized with house pressure (averaging 50-60psi+) it will work at the pump seals. You can see in this picture how the sh is leaking from the pump seals.

I just changed this particular pump after 2 years and it's valued at over $200K.

Ed sings lullabies to his pumps at night. They love it.

Jan, you also should have an accumulator at the pump outflow. This will help to reduce cycling of the pump.

ok,  preety ignorant of what an accumulator is and how to set up.  did talk to pumpbiz where i bought it and they suggested a bleed off after the pump that went back to the tank.  that helped it run smoothlly but created another problem of cycling on and off when trigger is not pulled because of constant bleed off.  any help would be appreciated.
