New HANNAY Manifoldless Roof Cleaning Reels now starting at $489

I came across this posting at PWI.  Does anybody know anymore about this reel?  I have two Titans on our truck now, and one is only a few months old. I took last years roof reel and use it for our water hose to the Udor Water Rinse pump, so I am sure we will get more mileage out of them.

However, this idea certainly appeals to me as we tear down and build a better mousetrap this winter.

This was posted by Kevin from Peak of Perfection Roof Cleaning.

Here is his youtube video link:  http://youtu.be/p9z2jM-h308

Okay guys, I know the big reel that we have for sale is a bit on the spendy side for a lot of folks, particularly the guys just starting out. So I have been working with the engineers at Hannay to come up with a less expensive version and I think you guys are gonna be happy. This reel is designed with the roof cleaner in mind and has an exclusive manifoldness setup with no metal in the fluid path. If you clean roofs then you know just how destructive high percentage SH is to your gear and that particularly includes the Reel manifold. After 6 months of searching, I came up with a reel design which is absolutely immune to roof cleaning chemicals and offered it up for sale. The reels I posted before are beasts. They are expensive but absolutely worth the money and still the way to go if you do high volume business. But I knew that there should be a way to get the reel into more guy's hands for the guys just starting out and the guys who are tight. I worked with Hannay to come up with a more cost effective design and the result is the new 100 series. Now there really is no excuse for anybody to NOT have a reel. No more kinked hoses, no more space eaten up on your rig, no more *#)@!@!ing leaking manifolds! Two versions are available...

The 100M is a manifoldness design with a super thick powder coat finish. $489
The 100MSS is the same manifoldness reel in full stainless steel. $859.

The 100 series reels have the same CPVC Super swivel as our monster 200, 300 and 400 reels and though less expensive, this is still a Hannay Reel and is still build to Hannay Standards to last and last. These are manual rewind designs and will hold 275' of 5/8" hose hose. 5/8" is the preferred hose size for roof cleaning with all electric and up to 3/4" AODD pumps. 1/2" hose will also fit if you adapt down on the swivel. If you need a bigger reel with more capacity, chances are you will need electric rewind as manually rewinding more than about 300' of 5/8' is tough and I recommend you step up to our bigger Electric series reels since electric rewind puts more stress on the reel and the heavier construction comes into play. Plus the cost difference would be negligible, so get the bigger one!

On the powder coating...the key is maintenance. Clean the reel like you clean your truck regularly. Don't let roof mix sit on there and cook, and touch up any chips spots fast. I like Plasti-dip clear to coat the reels in once you get them and have also used Plasti-Dip colored spray on an air reel on our rig that started to show some rust sign. I hit it with steel wool, brushed on the Plastidip, and no more problems. Stainless is obviously less prone, but still needs to be cleaned...yeah, SH is that pervasive. And while you still need to look after the exterior of the reel, the beauty of this design is the fact that there is no manifold to worry about on the inside. No more flash of red rust out of your manifold as one more day goes by where you pray it won't finally leak. No more broken fluid manifolds. Just rebuild the swivel every season or two (yes, they can be rebuilt easily) and you are good for years and years.

Pressure Washing and Hose Reels Too!

Call 360-831-9494 to order. Orders are manufactured to order at Hannay here in the United States and shipped directly to your door.

I like the concept, but so far have not read much about them.

I agree Mario

Anything to limit contact with SH means it will last longer. I know a lot of the guys bypass the manifold with quick connects anyway, so the smaller version for $489 painted or $900 stainless steel seems like a good investment.

His bigger model would require us to bring another truck!
