Gents

Just wanted to inform you all of the passing of Ted Watson. It was reported that Ted fell off a roof last week and was on life support until Thursday when he passed. He may have suffered a stroke but its unclear. We do know he wasnt wearing a harnass

Ted was a good friend and colleague who championed moving our industry forward

He will be missed greatly

That's awful to hear about Ted, he was always such a great guy and so helpful on the forums. It's also a stark reminder to all of us to always keep safety in mind, accidents happen in the blink of an eye.

Art, I'd be interested in making a donation if we wanted to send flowers to his memorial service on the half of NSWA, do you want me to do some research?

From what I understand Ted fell off a roof several weeks ago and broke a few ribs. Then had a fatal fall again within a couple weeks. Falls are like heart attacks y'all, you sometimes get a small one before the big one comes. In fact just a month before his death Ted was commenting in a thread on roof safety on PWI.

We have to take this seriously! Ted's fall and death will eventually hurt the entire industry, keeping us from getting affordable workers comp insurance. This death will go on the national experience modification records at NCCI for the roof cleaning industry.

Training is great but we all need to keep eachother accountable. Just like you would rip the keys out of a drunk friends hands keeping them from driving, we all need to hold eachother accountable on safety. Especially roof top safety. It is a matter of life or death.
