How true! We gave up on keeping everything on the roof. We have minimized the run off to a point I am comfortable with. I stopped buying surfactant on line due to the shipping costs and use what we can get locally.

Dave,

I used Dawn when I first started but then I did a side by side with roof snot and found I liked roof snot better. I only use a little(half of what is recommended) and it works just fine.

Others throw caution to the wind by reading the back label of Dawn. See picture below.

 I used Dawn years ago, but it killed my mix after a day, I really only used it as an indicator that my mix was hitting the surface.

Once I found soaps (like Roof Snot), that didn't do that, and actually aided in the cleaning process I switched. Also like how the windows turn with snot.  I have no documentation, only my experience.

Plus it's not cost effective for me to use store bought products.  Actually cost me more.

 I don't know why I stated I use Dawn when in fact I use Gain. Perhaps a pre-senior moment...LOL? Please disregard my question.
