Okay I am throwing this out there for those who may give a shit, it takes a little time but well worth it. I developed this Idea by accident last year and it worked, todays results were fantastic.  Ok so what do you do with a roof covered in Lichen that you sprayed in October and the H/O calls you in March and says it still there? So I gotta go  back right...she paid?  So my guy goes up and checks some Lichen...it's dead but stuck on real good...we will be blowing off alot of granuels and it will look like shit.  Re spray? No....it's dead and your going to have SH flying around and it's a big job again.  So heres the deal......Put about 20 or 40 gallons in a spare tank we all have one...then about a cup of liquid soap to every ten gallons...it can be cheap dish soap.  Spray the effected area with this mix THREE TIMES over 7 minutes or so...spray let sit...spray sit...spray again and heavy too... let it fly. The soap  turns the lichen all gooey and you can almost wipe it off. Now get the jet nozzle and start from as far back as possible move in when needed....the loss is minimal ...now this is on asphalt roofs I assume the lichen will respond the same on every surface.  It took about a half hour and the shingles looked good and almost no loss. I'm telling you three heavy coats of just soap and water { No ground guy needed} You will be happy It pretty must slips off.  Keep it to just us...not a big deal but it can make your work look better if you gotta rinse it off

Nice Pat. If the roof is unwalkable you can apply Pats secret lichen sauce a few times, then grab your telescopic brush and gently agitate the lichen. Little circles with the brush. This allows the mushy lichen to break up and separate from the shingle. Next good rain will finish the job.

Nice good thinking Ed, The women called me two or three days ago thanking me. Said she couldn't believe it didn't come off over the winter but it looks great now. Takes a little time but minimal loss is what we are after.
