I agree Brett,..I made my hand truck out of a steel truck that I bought from TSC,.The aluminum makes alot more sense at the end of the day for sure. I just didn't want to spend the money,..wasn't sure how'd I'd like it,..but I do like it after all,Ha,Ha.. But now I can see me using this little one more than I thought I was going to,..so I will keep the steel truck unit,..and,..it is already done,Ha,Ha,,..

My brother is a milk man and has an awesome aluminum hand truck,..and asked him if he'd miss it if it went missing.

I know I would have done exactly what you did when building the unknown. Use anything already available to keep the cost down. Next time around build something people see and are in awe! Now that portable sprayer you have is a fine set up. The only change I see is an aluminum hand truck from a milk man.

Got a couple inquiries on this hand held here locally,..One guy wants to buy one for his brother. For these local units I am gonna initially offer free troubleshooting and or repairs on any I sell. Not really looking to get rich on them,.but would be neat to see my idea being used.

Next one made I make,..I am gonna have the bottom welded on,..that much access isn't needed,..but I didn't know hoe much elbow room I was gonna need for replacing the pump. But it can easily be done with the bottom in place.

That's pretty cool Jeff! Building stuff that ends up working better than our mind had envisioned and others look at it and are willing to pay for it is the best compliment!

Thanks Brett,..yea,..I made it with me in mind,..But,.it really is better than I anticipated,..just so flexible. And people who see it are liking it! I have now bought 48 (1) gallon bottles from Uline and have a transfer pump for transferring various products into these jugs for use with this hand held. I actually took my hand truck out, and will now only take it along when it's needed. Unlike me though,..because I usually like to have every tool I own on board. But it does take up space and adds weight,..which is not welcomed at this point.

The new ones will also have aluminum handles,..the handle on this one is cut from a pump sprayer and bolted on,Ha,Ha,.. Gonna include one of those little,..basic 12V chargers,..that show red when charging and green when charged. Can't expect anyone to do what I did,..although these guys I know may want to do it that way,..just tie a corresponding plug into your 12V auto charger,..and you're done,..just plug it in.

The outlet hose also runs out the top front now and,..makes it just a little more compact than the hose out the side. Also using small 5/16" clear hose,..nice and light,..and in short pieces doesn't kink up.
Gonna also talk to a couple friends I have with "brick and mortar" business,..and maybe set one out as a demo unit at each location. Garden center and an equipment rental that also sells chain saws, mowers, etc...

Jeff

Just an update on this sprayer,...Simply put,..I'll never be without it again. Or even the wooden prototype,..I used them both all season long and they filled the "spot sprayer" niche VERY well. I don't foresee ever the need for a pump sprayer again.  I used (2) Seaflo 1 GPM pumps in the aluminum one,.(The 3rd. was put in and is still like new),..this sprayer was used mostly for 12.5%,...,.. And I used  (2) pumps in the wooden one,..which was used for acids. The second pump is in there now and will be replaced for the upcoming season.

The hose  is the picture was replaced with clear vinyl hose,..like used as pickup hose on a soap injector.  The clear vinyl hose I used held up way better than I had expected. I'm glad,..because it's cheap,..and light.

Those triggers you see in the picture did NOT hold up well at all,..about a week and they were done. $30.00 each gets old quick,.not to mention the leaking.

I went to union ball valves,.they have Teflon seats and turn very easily with one hand. $15.00 And hold up extremely well. I mean,..months!

wow great thread. I hate dragging out 200 ft of hose to the back of customers houses for a screen enclosure and lanai clean. Pump sprayers get old real quick. This is now on my list of things I need to make. It seems like it will be priceless to have.

Dont know if anyone had seen this seal n lock spray system but they work great. Not sure if the pump would hold up to S/H tho.I have only used them a few time to spray sealer.  But you cant beat the concept, all it is is 2 dewalt batteries attached.

They had one set up at the Seal n Lock booth at the National UAMCC.  Very cool idea, especially if you already use those 18v dewalt batteries for other things.  I don't really think people are using these 12v pump systems for SH as much as acids, stains, and sealers.

I've actually used an AODD pump assembly to spray stain on cedar roofs. Fit into a shoebox footprint and did 2 story roofs well but hoses snagged often so I've planned on trying battery operated backpack sprayers for stain application, already use g and pump ups but easily tip over on roofs.

As for SH use it still like Jeff's idea for spot/demo applications.

Thanks Maverick,.."spot spraying and test spots are what I had in mind when I made this.  I wanted it to simply take the place of a (1) gallon pump sprayer,..these sprayers like "Seal and Lock" are offering are fine for what they are,..(Although could be made Much cheaper)  but they aren't really grab and go.  In a sense they are I suppose,..but that's just too damn big and too much hose to be grab and go hit a rust spot or throw some 12.5% on a bees nest to soften it up.

*One other note,...this handheld can be used with a (5) gallon bucket as well,..all it takes is a couple extra lengths of hoses,..and now you have a "stationary" unit,..and now it will do the same as any of these other sprayers in this category,..but,..they can't do what it will do,.  And that's be a totally handheld sprayer.

Jeff
