Wondering what you/your workers wear on the job.  I was gonna get some of the polyester shirts printed but can't find anyone that is selling them (ALLRED is currently not taking orders), so I may just go with a cheap screen-printed T-shirt for now.

Anyway, just wondering what everyone does. I see guys spraying in everything from shorts/sandals to hazmat suits.

17320-PA-Softwash-REVISE (00000002) shirts small.jpg

We tend to be conservative as the look of our uniforms is actually chosen by our customers. (true story)

Better to be understated....

All kidding aside, we wear these shirts everyday and they last forever. We have shirts two years old and they look almost as good as the new ones. The screenprint fades, but not much considering they get bleached everyday.

The other great thing is we stay clean looking all day long, so the end of the day we still look presentable as opposed to solid shirts getting hogged up the first time you touch it with a hose or a pressure washer blast against a hard surface...

We also love this material, as it wicks moisture away and will dry in minutes when we slip under a shade tree for lunch during the hot summer days.

We just layer with long sleeve active wear shirts when the cool weather comes.

$22.00 divided by two complete seasons...

Just for the record the pink are for my daughter who runs the office and works with me on days Tony is not around.

Pants:  Dickies.  They came out with a lighter weight relaxed fit 65/35 blend cargo pants with a cell phone pocket to boot.

They also give us a full season before they start to look a little bleached  The only color that works though is the Navy Blue.

Last really cool thing we found this winter is wet gear made by Uddertechinc.com.

This stuff fits great and it appears it will hold up very nicely.  They design clothes for veterinarians and dairy farm hands. etc.

They make a chap that buckles on and goes right over your pants but will protect from pressure wash splash

I think it really depends on your goals. As a single man or two man band that wants to stay that way then what you wear is less important.

Just yesterday I went to bid on a house wash and the client said it best "....at least I can tell your a professional business what with the logo on the truck and a company shirt".

If you want to build a business and/or a brand then you need to look the part. There are a ton of great sublimated shirts out there but the cost is tremendous to start with. I actually started with cotton T-shirts printed at Vista Print. I ordered a few dozen and went through a shirt a day at times. They would get ruined in one job but I looked like a pro when I showed up and looked like I worked my tail off when I was done.

In a way I think those cheap T-shirts helped me grow. The word of mouth I received because of the perceived "hard work" I must have done to look so bad by the end of the day!

I now use Allied Shirts. They ALWAYS have 45% off or so....meaning don't overpay...it's just their gimmick. I think I ordered like 30 or so and get several different sizes. The end cost is about $15 a shirt and they last about 6 months. On occasion we ruin one faster but not usually.

For pants we wear the blue Dickies from Walmart. They also last about 6 months.

I get our T shirts locally with logo on the front left and big logo and what we do in the back. I consider them throw away after a few months since she gives me such a good deal. She also does the embroidery on my $3.00 name brand collar shirts from Good Will. I stopped spending good money on shirts I mess up by just walking through the truck or a visit to the job.

The guys get pants/shorts, shirts, SFC shoes, a well vented hat, safety sun glasses and last but not least... a cooling towel.

I found this place for a good price and colors on cooling towels.

i ordered hanes x cool polyester shirts, and had a local guy screen print small gog on fron left breast and large logo on back. Man are they comfortable, cool and sweat wicking.... i am curious as to where do i find a shirt like Mike at Diamond roof cleaning or ERik at Liberty Soft Wash. Appears to be a printed poly shirt. Something like my motocross jersey. Anyone know where to find those? or even what they are referred to as?

I too get several comments a week on my shirts and my jeep looking professional. I had my logo made a thelogocompany.com and I have been using it on everything. Branding> Make your name and logo stick. that's the key

Lots of great thoughts here.  I especially like the dairy site with the rain gear.  Neat idea.  I'm gonna try these printed polyester shirts Doug mentioned.  We'll see how they work. The Dickie's pants seem like the ticket too.

How are these as far as slipping? The Mucks aren't very good.

Those look comfortable, too.   I've got some insulated boots I'm gonna wear for a while but I expect they'll be too hot in the summer.

EDIT: Thanks Art.  I found these in my size half price on Amazon! http://www.amazon.com/Bogs-Urban-Farmer-Waterproof-Black/dp/B008JWJU3O

This is the most comfortable boot we have found and they are lightweight.

I walk roofs with them no problem. When they are steeper, we use cougar paws

When it is as windy as today, we put lead weights in the bottom so I do not get blown off the roof and out of the county

40-50  mile per hour gusts!

The best rubber boots for comfort and chemical resistance are the ones I mentioned before from Tractor Supply. The rubber never cracks and wears like sneakers. They are only $20.00 a pair,..add some upgraded insoles and they'll last a whole season. They never discolor,..the have a very soft outsole that provides excellent traction,..the sole wears down before the boot wears out.
