I'm using a deck wash from EMS and 4% sh. Yes the 2nd picture was not done yet, was just showing what the wood looked like.
First picture is by the back door, and I don't have a clue what the black spots are.

Not a whole lot of choices on those black spots. If it were me,..I'd lay down some degreaser like Purple Power and let it dwell for about 15 minutes and then hit it with medium pressure and see if any at all comes up. That isn't typical deck cleaning. Ask the owner of the deck if they can give some insight as to what it may be,..knowing what you're dealing with in this business is the biggest part in knowing how to deal with it.
 Maybe a stiff bristled deck brush to work at those spots would help,..likely when this is done,.it will need sanded,.and then even a medium colored stain to help hide the remnants of the cleaning.

Second picture,..Sodium Hydroxide 8 OZ. per gallon,..DS'ed and then rinsed away,..and then use oxalic acid mixed about 12 OZ. per gallon and DS'ed And it will be good. Or Sodium Percarbonate mixed about 8 OZ. per gallon and applied direct and neutralized like above mentioned with oxalic.

Sodium Hydroxide is the same as old fashioned "Lye". You can buy it at hardware stores in the drain cleaner isle. Ace has a brand called "Rooto",..It comes in 1 LB. bottles.

Mix it with some soap for dwell time.

How about the oxalic acid ?

You need to find a local chemical supplier for many of the things we use and recommend. Sometimes oxalic is sold in hardware stores as wood bleach,..I never seen it,.but I've seen it mentioned many times over the years.

I know many of us use Univar as our supplier. So look them up.

Best thing to do is read through these sites in particular categories,..and then do internet searches on the products you see mentioned.

The other thing you will need is a good gutter cleaner. I use and prefer Purple Power,..easily found at Walmart,.although I order from Advance Auto.

Never heard of that company. Mainly you need a source for 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite,..many pool supplies have it on hand.

Ox acid is very common and is the wood "brightener " I posted, will get out those black marks, need to dwell but not dry.scrub.

You should have a Sherwin Williamso near you, they carry Duck back super deck REVIVE, they are great to work with.
