More rain predicted for this week. It has been an interesting spring putting us about two weeks behind.

The rain has caused us to work some weekends, which has cut into my well deserved beauty sleep.

Everything cancelled for the week due to tornado that devastated the area . Spent all week cleaning up and attempting to find

what little was left. Wasn't bad enough, we've had about 5 inches of rain since. What a mess but we will move forward. Lost most everything

we had in storage after selling our house but we are OK and that is what really matters. So many weren't so lucky !!

SO much more to do, have to deal with the insurance company yet UGH

Regarding the rain,...aside from roof cleaning which can't be done in the rain,..I prefer to wash houses, decks, and concrete in the rain,..maybe not a deluge,.but a typical rain isn't a problem at all,..especially in the Summertime,..rain is very welcome for washing houses especially. Decks and concrete can be done when wet with no issue at all,..Pooling can cause an issue with decks sometimes,.but usually isn't an issue because decks allow water to run right through the cracks,..(Some composite decks are made to tight and will pool),..but other than that,..the rain doesn't hurt anything and RARELY makes me reschedule,..Lightning is a different story.

Rain is nice though,..the soap doesn't dry up, the plants are constantly rinsed of soap, the Sun isn't beating on me,..and,..the customer stays inside.

Good bullet points Jeff!

Of course, rain and 40 degrees starts in the day... not so good

Crazy this year 50 to 90 in two days and heavy humidity to test our bodies conditioning. We failed...

Definetly been a tough scheduling year with the wind and rain. I absolutely hate working the weekends but some times have no choice. Maybe Junes weather will be better. Maybe?

Hey Steve, good point on the 40 degrees and rain,..and I agree,...the temperature has to be warm enough for my gutter cleaner to work,..and if it's too cold rain is a moot point.,...as I likely won't be out there anyhow,... I try and schedule away from the 40's temps,...rain or not.

The regular every year customers are really nice due to unstable Spring temps,...many times these "every year" houses can be done in cooler than normal temperatures,..simply because they aren't that dirty ,..and the gutters can often times be done with house wash mix.

But as a whole,.if the temps are warm enough for me to wash,..I'll take the rain,.or at least the clouds,...I don't care if I ever see the Sun when I'm working.

@ Mike,..the wind is the worse,..I hate working in wind,.and is why I always try and get roofs done in the morning, before the wind kicks up. Houses are bad enough in the wind,..but 4% blowing around sucks,.and not being able to hit the peaks on a big roof.

Jeff

We have a four week backlog. We worked only two days last week. If it wasn't raining it was too windy. They are forecasting rain a few days this week as well!

I know we needed the rain in NH to help with the drought but I so have to work. I wish it would rain only at night..

I'm moving, can't stand rain nor high heat nor HUMIDITY!

Who "owns" Santa Barbara?
(besides Pat obviously)

Found this since I've been thinking of another Cali trip
"Santa Barbara, California

My wife summed up the climatological perfection of Santa Barbara on a recent trip there: “If they could only bottle the air here”. By that she didn’t just mean the fragrances of eucalyptus, pine, and lemon grass wafting down the hillsides with the warm Santa Ana winds. She meant the temperature (76 degrees), the humidity (30%), and the potential for rain (zero).

Santa Barbara has long been recognized as having arguably the best climate in the state with the best weather in the U.S."
