Boat awnings

Paradise Pressure Washing received a call this morning to clean some boat awning. We swung by and grab them on our way to a job and softwashes them while doing the other job. Customer was pleased and asked us if we can dye and clean more for them. I have never dyed an awnin but don’t believe it’s to hard. Any thoughts would help.

Try this company. I got a lot of information from them once and they were helpful. We don't do a lot of awnings so I just use what we have. If we did a lot I would purchase more product from them.  http://awningcleaning.com/home.html

Are you waterproofing them as well? Pretty easy, might be a nice add on.

Do you use a particular product for waterproofing after you clean awnings? That service may be of interest to our customers for sure.

Around here, the awning installers will take down your awnings, store them in their facility over the winter and then bring back and reinstall.
What surprises me is they do not clean them unless you pay more for that service. Seems to me they might be susceptible to mold damage if stored in a dirty condition.

Steve I haven't cleaned awnings for profit but I was a boat owner for many years and the materials are very similar, usually Sunbrella. I'm not sure if there is a generic alternative that more cost effective hut I always used this with great results. Water would actually pool on the boat cover but leak through.

Easy to apply just spray on till saturated 2 coats I'f I remeber correctly

Thanks for the link... i like when you can buy a manual or dvd for a particular surface.  The awning sealant looks like it could be a good add on.

I've heard a lot of people recommend Dragon Juice for cleaning awnings.  I have some, but haven't tried it on an awning yet.
