Am I missing something? Isn't it just simple Concrete cleaning? Spray cleaner then Power wash with surface cleaner. Of course he will want you to use his EBC.

I've done three gas stations over the last year and a half using various products including EBC and industry accepted methods as you mentioned. The biggest issue for me has been getting the owners to see value in having their sites cleaned and then maintained. I've never spoken to or met Carlos. Three pm's in twelve months is about it. I see value in gas station cleaning if I get past the first hurdle. The initial cleaning has always pays good.

The choice is yours.

I'd like to attend it, i've been reading about it for a while. Apparently it's a pretty packed course, where they spend classroom time going over the basics, like marketing to gas stations... then they go out and clean one. I suppose the flatwork isn't that complicated, but if you dont have a lot of experience with grease/oil or hot water machines, it could be really useful... plus cleaning the canopy and protecting the gas pumps and everything.

Another class coming up is with Doug Rucker and Everett Abrams down in Houston in Feb. A 3 day wood course, and they are including a hands on deck and house restoration with it. Would be awesome to get first hand experience working next to Everett on a couple of wood projects.

Some of these courses/classes might be very good teaching someone what they need to know. I have no problem with someone making money doing these and without question, they should but I have also done the math. Not only can it get expensive for a two to three day course but then add in hotel and food and other expenses.

There is enough experience right here to help each other out, because that is what we do... pay it forward. It's just too bad all the Yankees can't agree on a place to get together so us southern boys can venture into never, never land for a round table that we all can benefit from. I can't begin to explain what I learned from Hank and Steve last year. Only three of us but there was a lot of info there.

The technical aspects of the station training are good (i.e. do you need to reclaim? does station have oil/water separators?, proper techniques and equipment), but the real meat and potatoes of the class is the sales techniques is how to get to the decision makers.
