Gonna Try a New Soap?

Anyone try this soap?  I just bought 5 gallons to give it a shot. Haven't  used it in the field yet,..but added to a bucket and water blast to fill the bucket it seemed to make decent soap,..the foam/bubbles on top lasted for a t least an hour. It's a very think soap out of the bucket,..but that doesn't necessarily equate to a thick soap once mixed.  I has a neutral PH.  The price is an obvious selling point.  I don't know how they sell it for $22.00 shipped to the door.  Considering anything liquid in a 5 gallon bucket is usually $35-$40 shipping,..on top of the cost of the product.

Anyhow,..gonna try it and let others know. Cherry soap always reminds me of cough syrup,..YUK,...and this has the same viscosity. But,..the price is very appealing.  Also comes in really nice 5 gallon buckets with a breather cap.

Hey Art,..gonna use it for both if it works. Soaps are basic for the most part. If it clings and improves wetting properties it will be fine. I really like the Pinalen Maxx as I mentioned before,..but it's a proving to be a pain to get in large amounts. For $22.00 this stuff is worth a shot.

I think the Max is Outlawed in PA because of the streams. There's a Chemical in it that is banned up there. I go to Dollar Tree and buy the Totally Awesome Dish Soap for a Buck. You have to look for the bigger bottles. This stuff is Thick. You need to water it down some to work with an injector.

I can get Pinalen Maxx,..just not is quantity. Dollar General has it and so does Family Dollar. Just a few bottles though,...clearing the shelf all the time is a pain. And sometimes they are out. I asked if I could order large amounts and they said no? Not sure why,...just didn't feel like it I guess.

Jeff I only add about 2 cups to my 7 Gallon D/S tank. One large bottle from HD 172 oz lasts me a few days

They are not telling the truth Jeff. The manager at Family Dollar here knows me and many times will tell me as I walk in, there are unopened cases in the stock room. I clean the shelves and pick up the cases. She really like that they don't have to stock the shelves. I know what day they get shipments. It sucks they won't help. I can't get PinAlen anywhere else and Home Depot doesn't want to help even with the commercial sales guy trying to help me.

Hey Brett,..that's what I figured too. I may try another store,..but for now I think this Cherry stuff may suit. I bucket washed my truck the other day and it seemed to work decent,..about like any other car wash or dish detergent. For $22.00 to the door I have to give it a chance. I actually ordered 3 more . I will use it as my dip bucket soap if nothing else. As far as Cherry scents go,.this one has a nice clean scent,.....sti reminds me of cough syrup though, Ha, Ha,...

Let us know how it works for house washes Jeff. At $22.00 for a 5 it's less expensive than PinAlen.

Maybe that was their plan. Give it away, when more and more buy it, raise the price.

$45.00 shipped is still better than "industry" soaps!

Used this soap for house washing the last three days. I give it a 8/10 rating. Not super soapy going on...but it does stay in place well,. I figure I can do 5 normal houses with about a gallon of soap. I will just figure 1 quart per house to make it simple. Not sure how SH compatible it is,..I don't mix it though,..so for me it doesn't matter.

*I am running it through a DS/proportioner. So compatibility doesn't matter to me. It is PH neutral.

*It is not a super slick soap,..which I think is good for clean rinsing,..windows are coming out very nice. I do prefer a slick soap for my bucket soap for dipping brushes. But I am going to use this and see how I like it. Doesn't have as thick as soap as dish liquid,..and seems to give up quicker than I'd prefer in a bucket. I bought this with my soap tank and DSing it in mind,..so the bucket soap isn't as important. But brushing over windows with it will give better rinsed results I beleive.

* The Cherry scent does not affect the scent of the DS solution,..neither negatively or positively.

Bottom line: It's a basic soap. I wish I had bought more when it was $23.00 per (5) gallon. With that said,..I will likely by it at the higher price of $47.00. I have 4 buckets on hand,..so maybe by some stroke of luck it will come back down in price,..which I doubt!!

Looking back,..this was a really good deal. The soap worked very well,..but the price is now around $75.00 per 5 gallons. I'm back to Lavender Pinalen in 172 OZ. bottles from Home Depot. I ordereded 60 of the 172 OZ. bottles from HomeDepot.com 10 at a time is all they allow,..but that's ok,...puts me over the free shipping threshold. 10 bottles cost me $66.57 Approximately 13 gallons Comes out to around $4.78 per gallon. Very cost effective!!

Great find from years ago Art!!

This was a good clean rinsing soap,..and was only $22.00 at the time.  $101.00 now.

I'm a big fan of Arts Pinalen Lavender.  $6.28 for 172 oz. bottle from Home Depot.  Nice clean rinsing and thin enough that it doesn't "snot" up the soap tank or the check valves.  Very efficient,..I bet I can get two houses out of one bottle.

I don't use a lot of the Max for House Washing. One good splash to 7 gallons. Seems to work fine, Windows come out Mint

I saw the amount Jeff said he used. We use a fraction and it does a great job. I don't know how long we have been using Pinalen, maybe 6 or 7 years now. We can't get anything but pine             Home Depot. They wouldn't even order it for us. Family Dollar has helped us. We order online, pick up the cases and out the door.

Apparently I like a soapy soap on my house washes, Ha, Ha,...I'm sure lesser amounts would work as well. Windows still come out fine,.. but yea,..I could be more economical I suppose. I do have an infinite valve I can control it with,..maybe I'll try it to tone it down a little next season!!

*Brett,..I order my Pinalen from HomeDepot,....rather than going to the store.
