Ok,.I've got in to the habit of replacing my HP hose every year,. I haven't been able to get even two years out of a hose,. I used to get at least four. So the last few years I have just been replacing every year. Yes,. I was buying good hoses, the Goodyear Gray Neptune and Continental from PressureTek. Anyhow,.. that is a really good deal Lowes has right now. The same hose anywhere else is around $238.00.

Great find! Is there a way to find out if it's one ore two wire? I'm guessing one.

Hey Brett,.yes, these are one wire hoses,..and is what I prefer for weight and flexibility and just overall handling!! I haven't used two wire hoses in 0ver 20 years!!

Also non-marking gray,..which is all I've used in the past several years.

2 years!!??
we run our pressure washers every week multiple times for 9 months with 3500 and 4200 psi machines and they last 6 to 10 years although once in a while a fitting needs to be replaced but that's only pull from the gun instead of pulling from the hose itself.

pulling from the gun or putting stress at the connector is 99% the points where they fail.

maybe the single wire are not rated for the psi of your machine? I know you're damn smart so I'm not sure what's going on especially if the fail points are in middle of the hose

btw good to see you around posting

Hey Maverick!! I wouldn't consider myself "Damn" smart, Ha, Ha,..,..but appreciate the comment!! Yea,.I don't know,..I don't even run high pressure that often,..when running surface cleaner and when wanding concrete, like steps and such. The hoses never fail at the fittings,..always seem to blow somewhere in between,..I agree,..never pull hose using the trigger,..just reach back and grab the hose about a foot behind the couplers. The 1 wire braided hoses I use are rated around 4200 PSI.

*I actually think the issue may be the way I force feed my DS system. I run a much stronger mix through the PW hose than normal DS'ing,...I'm guessing that's the issue?? But,..I'm not going to stop forced DS'ing no matter what!!

Glad to see you still here as well. Nice seeing the guys from the old days still trucking along!!! Hope you have a great season!!

Jeff

I reverse my hose every 6 months or so. The hose always blows at the gun end. Helps get a little more time out of the hose

Side note for anyone interested: I did receive the hose and it seems fine,...BUT,..I thought it had a smooth cover,..it doesn't it is a wrapped cover,..something I don't care for,...but,...I'll give it a chance,..but will likely just keep it around for extra hose. I like the smooth cover hoses,..they wind in through your hand better,..especially with an electric reel.

Ok,.the hose is very flexible and lighter than my other hoses. It is very manageable (Kinda' like handling rope),.... and it winds up just fine through my Nitrile gloves,..so I am gonna use it until it quits. If it lasts a year it will have served it's purpose. But for now,..I'm really liking it!

Jeff I used that hose last year, worked fine. Got the year out of it. I think it rusts out when sitting over the winter. This winter I'm going to fill it with pump anti freeze and see what happens. They don't make things like they used to!

Thanks Art,..yea,..I am really liking it so far,..VERY lightweight and manageable, and If I get a year I'll be happy! Although it is light and manageable, I don't think that means it light duty,...simply because when it's loaded with pressure it doesn't "stiffen" up like the other hoses do. Handles the loaded PSI very well. Isn't twisting like the others did neither?

*The antifreeze idea may help during the off season!

Jeff are you starting to shop around the internet when buying stuff. I buy a lot from Ebay and Amazon. The venders are starting to charge more then other places on the internet. Now like you said Lowe's is getting into the mix. I've been finding really good deals at Home Depot. The Free Shipping is the best part of the deal.

Yea Art,..I've actually always shopped around online or anywhere for that matter for better deals. I couldn't care less about supporting the vendors we've seen over the years on the forums. It's their job to support themselves,..just like it is mine to support me, my business and my life. What have they ever done for me anyhow.

I would like to give my local guy more business, but his pricing is just way too high and can't compete,....I wouldn't even mind paying a small percentage more,..but not a lot more.

*If I knew I was gonna get a year out of this hose I'd buy another one right now,..due to the cheap price.

I got that hose last year and got a year out of it. They always blow in the Spring. That's why I was saying I was going to put Anti Freeze in it this year. As far as venders go, I only buy what's needed. I like KEC for price and fast Shipping. Otherwise its Ebay and I go from there

We just got 400' on Thursday. I'm changing two trucks to 200' instead of 100 that they have to add to on most jobs. I like the textured cover over smooth. It seems to last a little longer.

As to vendors, I use the local shop a bit but their prices are not always that good. I bought my last hot water PW (good price) from them and it's a great machine. All the other stuff comes from Russ. Good prices and fast shipping. I send him an email with what I want, he sends it. I don't ask for prices. Once I see the invoice, his prices are always good. Saves him work.

Hey Brett,..good luck with the hose. I'm really liking it so far. Heck of a deal also. Yes,..I still will order from vendors that offer the right pricing,..would be dumb not to and it's nothing personal. But I just don't get "married" to any one vendor,..I shop around, and often find other PW supply vendors online that offer better pricing than others that were never on these forums.

*I agree, if you're being treated good by any particular vendor then I don't blame you for showing loyalty. I don't think Russ liked me,..I talked to him on the phone once about ordering stainless springs for soap injectors. He wanted some astronomical price for shipping (5) little springs, Ha, Ha,..like $20 or something on top of the over priced springs. So, there was no "helping" me out there,..almost like he didn't want my business type pricing.

On the shipping, I find PressureTek to be really fast,..almost always the next day. I order from them about twice a year for smaller stuff, like soap injectors, o-rings etc.... Also has been where I order my surface cleaners.

My unloaders have been coming from Kleen-rite,..can't beat their price for the Giant Orange Spring unloader.

Triggers come from pressurewashoutlet.com  great deals on the YRL-51

Soap comes from Home Depot as you know.

Hose from Lowes for now, as we know

PW Pumps from The Powerwash Store,..

12V pumps from ebay

Etc, etc,...different vendors for different things.

Upon closer inspection,...this isn't a typically wrapped hose,...from what I can see this is a rubber cover that is textured to look like a wrapped hose. Why, I don't know.

That hose works just fine for what we do, nothing lasts forever with bleach

Well,..the hose blew out yesterday. Made it about 1/2 a season. Fortunately it was at the end of a house wash and I was rinsing off a concrete pad I just cleaned,...was able to use the hose with an open ball valve. Glad I only paid $169.00 instead of $238.00,..which is what it costs now.

That shouldn't of happened already. I use that hose all the time. I only get a year out of it myself. Put one of them replacement ends on and keep on going with it. I keep old repaired hose on the truck just in case I have that problem. It sucks when you can't finish a job

Hey Art,..Yea I was able to finish without issue,..I was almost done and the leak "went away" when the ball valve was open,.I was down to rinsing the concrete,..only had about 5 minutes of work left. Came home and respooled with backup hose,..which is only about a year old.
The reusable ends I have only work with the heavier covered hoses,..this hose that blew is smaller diameter and I don't think the reusable end would "bite" properly to the outer cover.

Ordered Dragon Flex from The Power Wash Store.

Looks like a good price. I think PW Store is coming down on their pricing. They are having competition problems like us.

We had one hose blow and the other is still going fine. I think it was one of the guys pulling and jerking because it was stuck. I don't expect these to last long.

Hey Brett,..yea,..these hose are almost too pliable to be considered for anything other than occasional use ,..and not really meant for everyday use. I really wasn't surprised when it blew,...but hey,..now we know.

We are at 5.5 and 6.5 and will never move up due to all the wells around here.

More water running through the hose. It may be swelling the hose causing it to expand.

Dragon Flex hose still holding up well and is a "Likable" hose. It's actually one of the better prices hoses right now. 3/8"x200' 4000 PSI 1 wire. $291.00 to the door. I just placed the order. Everything going up in price so I figured I'd just get it and be ready,..gonna need it some day anyhow. Pricing seems way better than anyone else I could find with comparable hose.

I bought the hose in the post and was really unhappy with the wear. It didn't last long so we went back to 2 wire with the heavy textures exterior wall we get from ACR products.
