What is an O Ring

An O-ring, also known as a rubber O-ring, is a type of gasket or seal commonly used in power washers and various other machinery and equipment. O-rings are circular in shape and typically made from rubber or elastomeric materials. They are used to create a watertight or airtight seal between two mating parts, preventing leakage of fluids (such as water or hydraulic fluids) or gases in a wide range of applications.

In a power washer, O-rings are often used in various components, including:

  1. Nozzles: O-rings are used in the nozzle fittings to create a seal between the nozzle and the high-pressure hose. This helps prevent water leakage and ensures that the pressurized water is directed where it's supposed to go.

  2. Hose connections: O-rings can be found in hose connectors, particularly where hoses attach to the power washer's pump or spray gun. They ensure a secure and leak-free connection.

  3. Pump components: O-rings may also be used in the pump assembly of a power washer to seal various internal components and prevent water from escaping where it shouldn't.

  4. Spray gun: The trigger mechanism and other parts of the spray gun may have O-rings to create seals that control the flow of water when the user operates the power washer
