Power Washing and Roof Cleaning Forum

Been in business for 2 years now. Have learned a lot along the way, still more to learn I'm sure. Any knowledge passed on will be greatly appreciated.

I am curious to hear how everyone quotes extremely dirty roofs. I cleaned a roof the other day and multiple sections were north facing and had never been cleaned in 20 years. Those sections before treating were solidly black. After the first treatment the shingles cleaned up in some parts but there wa...

Just want to share my experience with the "new" DieHard batteries from Advance Auto. I bought a DieHard Gold last May and it was junk at the start of this year. I never had an issue with my starting battery until this one. It was stored properly,..At full charge and on a wooden shelf),..just like any batt...

This always pops up. I don't know why these guys like this battle. In the RCIA FB group there has been a bit of fun with a KoolAid drinker who thinks we will buy into his extreme amount of knowledge and BS. First, he is one of the special people in the world who can call Proctor & Gamble and talk to six peop...

So I had a lady call the other day that had a nightmare experience with a “top rated” pressure washing company. She had the house and deck washed. She said the house is still dirty and her deck looks horrible. Apparently they washed the house first and then did the deck blasting all the dirt and wood fib...

I've actually been giving this thought the last few years but have yet to lower myself to that,..lower meaning bring my own standards down from what I've always strived for. Pros- Probably get more work,..because along with the people who want premium,..there could be customers added that fall in...

We received our first fuel bill so it was time to figure it out. We are almost able to pay the entire bill with the added charge. With the increase of almost $250.00 for SH and the crazy shipping rates from FedEx and UPS, the added surcharge has really made a big difference! Not one complaint so far.

BUT THE WEATHER ISN'T COOPERATING WITH THE PROGRAM

Art mentioned in another thread about the price of SH going up. I noticed that at the end of last season. I would be willing to bet I pay as much or more than anyone else,..at least from the prices I've always seen people post over the years. I am at about $364.00 per 53 gallon from Univar,.... and I pick it u...

Guy on FB, says he's been around a while. Washed a fence with Green Ox. Has a problem with a fence. It peroxide based cleaner. Looks to me like Caulking running. Open Pics

I responded in another post about cost saving and though I'd make a separate post also. For me, one of the easiest ways to save money on SH this season will be simply to reduce the amount I use on house washes, I've always used too much,.and never adjusted from a "clean" house I do every year to a house that i...

We were hired to clean the exterior of a high dollar home in centerport NY to get it ready for sale. This house has probably not been cleaned in a very long time. The roof was filthy and so was the cedar siding and all the trim. The red brick pavers were also unsightly. With attention to detail and handwas...

What do you guys think this year is going to be like. I'm reading on FB that some guys are raising their pricing up tp 20%.. I'm just worrying about getting the phone to ring. With the economy the way it is and everything costing so much, Power washing is going to be way down on the homeowners todo list. I wor...

Why clean patios, sidewalks, and decks, but leave the furniture? Some customers don't think to ask for it because they don't realize their patio furniture can be cleaned as well. Check out what a difference it makes!

Home Depot still offering free shipping on Pinalen Max Lavender. Price went up slightly since last year. Was $6.28 now $6.48 for 172 oz. Jeff

In your travels through the various groups,..does anyone still see people talking about using CH? Just wondering if AC is still promoting this stuff through his proprietary delivery system. Serious question... Jeff

This Stuff Cleans Everything. Found it at the Siding and Roofing Supply. I bought one to see how it works out. Way cheaper then World Best Wipes. Sorry for the sideways, got no time to fix

The festive activities were held this year at Jackson Hall the famous eatery located in lovely East Islip on the southern shore of Long Island. In attendance were Pat Gilley of Charlie's Roof Cleaning fame, the legend himself Art Oliveri, Erik Baumer of Dirtyroof.com and some old timer named Hank T...

I've been with Joe Walters for as long as I can remember, and also last year when they transitioned into the other company. I never had a claim so no issues there. But,..I really don't like the way they classify pressure washing as carpet cleaning,..I mean seriously,...and they claim to specialize in...

It still works fine! Good for telling whos looking and when the bots hit up your site https://statcounter.com/

Need to add a bigger PW to the van this winter and i have a few issues. Room for a Pw is not the problem as I'm removing my old PW. The problem I have is the size of my water tanks. I currently have 2-35 gallon drums so approx 70 gallons total. I plan on taking one of the 35 gallon drums out and replacing it with a 5...

You guys still building your own proportioners? I built one about 4 years ago I guess and I just take it apart every year and re-do the fitting paste, etc. Thinking on making another one due to all of the SH run through the PVC, probably getting brittle about now. Some parts Check valves are the same on...
